Single-Assigning a Budget
On the Times Explorer page, on the row/time track to which you want to assign a budget, and under the Budget column, click by "NA" or the name of the already-assigned budget if you want to change it.
When the list of budget names populate/display, click on the budget you want to assign to the time record.
The Timetracker server verifies the selected budget and assigns that budget to the time details record.
To assign a budget to multiple time records, select multiple time details/rows in the list of time details. When you do this, additional menu items display on the toolbar next to the "Add Time" button, including the "Assign Budget" button:
When you click the Assign Budget button, the "Assign Budget" dialog box displays with the list of configured budgets.
In the Title column, click the budget name that you want to assign and click "Assign to selected". The bulk budget assignment confirmation dialog box displays:
When you click the Assign button, the Budget column now displays the chosen budget for the selected bulk time details.
Removing a Custom Budget
To remove a budget, select multiple time track details/rows in the list of time details that are already assigned to a budget. In the Budget column, but still within the same row(s), click the click the budget name so that the list of budgets display.
In the budgets list, click the [Inherited budget] budget. The previously-assigned budget for the selected time detail record is removed. The Budget column will now display NA once you have removed the budget.
Note: If the budget of the parent work item or the iteration is removed, the time records, which inherits that budget will display NA in the Budget column.
