Tracking time with a DevOps Server/Services work item
This is the 7pace Timetracker 3 Windows Client before tracking begins:
When you click in the text field of your 3.0 Windows Client, the predictive text feature automatically populates a list of suggested TFSDevOps Server/Services-only work items (non-DevOps Server/Services items you have tracked on in the past do no display in this list) based on your past behavior. You can also hover your mouse over a work item to view the iteration details of that work item. You can view the work items list only when you put the cursor in the work item ID field and delete all text from the field.
*1 - The list of suggested items.
You can also manually start typing a DevOps Server/Services work item ID or title in the text field and by clicking "ok", the system will perform a search for matching items. When you select an item in the list, the system will verify that the work item is a DevOps Server/Services item and will display the following information :
- Project and iteration of the work item and parent work item
- Work item number with hyperlink to open the work item details
- Work item name
Click the Start button to start tracking time.
Tracking time with a non-DevOps Server/Services work item
You can also track time on general tasks that are not included in DevOps Server/Services and for which there is no work item ID.
Leave the work item ID field empty.
Click the "Start Tracking" button to start tracking your time.
You can then enter the appropriate description of the task in the text field, click the OK button, and then the Start button to start tracking your time.
