Limit the work items on which you can track time (no logging on work items under closed sprints)
Officially AnsweredIt would be great if there is the possibility to limit the work items on which you can track time.
E.g. when a sprint is closed (not active anymore) it should not be possible to track hours on User-Stories / Tasks which belong to this sprint. This should put a bit pressure on people to track their times more regularly.

I'd take it a step further: allow tracking to certain work items based on team or user permissions. We have some teams that like charging to tasks, while others prefer the Product Backlog item. I don't mind if both items are used, just as long as the sum of the completed hours is correct.

Hi Arshad,
thanks for reaching out to us! Since there have been different feature ideas mentioned in this thread, maybe you can briefly describe your use case, and what exact setting you are looking for.
Currently, it is not possible to prevent logging time on items which belong to a closed sprint. However you could prevent users from logging time on closed items via the 7pace settings.
Plus, an administrator can narrow down the work item search by applying Global Filters. For example, you could globally filter out Epics from the work item search, in order to nudge users to log time only on specific items. Please note that those global filters however only act as a 'soft limitation', since users will still be able to add time on them (e.g. via the 7pace tab). Find more details in our blog post: Global Filters Enhance Advanced Search blog post.
Let me know if that helps you.
All the best, Nici
