Hello,
I am upgrading TimeTracker on TFS 2015.2, from version 2.8. The install completes successfully, but the database migration fails with the following log.
Сreating and initializing temporary database.
Start migrating data to temporary database.
Initializing data migration for Collection
Create virtual project for Collection
Create users for Collection
Create locked weeks for Collection
Create grouped users for Collection
Create project settings for Collection
Create budgets for Collection

Create iterations budget for Collection
Create workitem budget for Collection
Create work logs for Collection
Create time approvals for Collection
Creating data (like work log and approval for non-existent legacy users) for Collection
InnerException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I cannot find any more detailed message than this to debug with. Could someone please give me some guidance on next steps I can take to complete the database migration?
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,
Unfortunately migration from 2.8 version to 3.x is not possible because of huge DB changes. We apologize for this inconvenience.
To migrate your data you should update your 2.8 to 2.8.3, and then update 2.8.3 to any 3.x version (3.1.8 in your case).
Kind regards,Roman

Hi Roman,
Could you please provide me the correct download link for 2.8.3? I can find a version 2.8.3 from the downloads page, but I found it under support for TFS 2013 Update 2-5, whereas TFS 2015 (any version) does not have a corresponding 2.8.3 version. I just want to make sure that I'm using the correct installer.
Thanks,

Hi Nick,
It seems that we have a mistake. Migration from 2.8 is impossible, but it turned out that you have 2.8.2 and Timetracker is able to migrate in your case. We have another problem, obviously. I will contact you to continue our conversation and investigation in support ticket.
Kind regards,Roman
