Option to see all my active items on timesheet. Difficult timesheet entry for users that don't use iterations features in VSTS
Gathering FeedbackI would like an option to see all of the active items assigned to my user, regardless of iteration and time assigned, in the timesheet view. In the current view, I can only see items assigned to me inside the current iteration, and users have to look up all other tasks to add time to them. We use VSTS for users that don't use the iteration features of VSTS and it is cumbersome to do time tracking for them following the last release.

Hi Chad,
First of all, sorry that new update caused troubles for you. The problem with old filters was that users got a lot of items in the Timesheet which were not relevant to current week/iteration. We improved this in the direction to empower users who are using iterations with performance boost and predictable Timesheet.
For you, who are not using iterations, this is definitely step backwards. I will run talks internally, how can we bring this feature back.
Meanwhile, don't you use iterations at all? If so, what if you create some dummy iteration, which spans for a long time and put all active work items into that iteration? It will make items appear in Timesheet. Is it a workaround for you?

Hey Maxim,
Thanks for your reply. There are a couple of issues that we have. We have multiple teams within VSTS that are using your product. Some use iterations, and some do not. Creating an open iteration would help alleviate the pain for the users that don't use iterations, but we would still have problems with those that do.
To summarize, we are required to get all of our timesheets in Monthly at the very end of the month. The iterations for those teams are shorter than monthly, so there can be multiple iterations in a single month. Since the timesheets are not due until the end of the month, users will procrastinate and wait until the end of the month to get them entered. By that time, we have moved on an iteration or two down the line, and the user has to manually add every task that they worked on back to the timesheet. Obviously, that is followed by lots of people grumbling to me about the pain.
Is there a way the timesheet could be driven based on a user defined query? That would solve a lot of problems for us.
