I'm extremely happy with how often there are updates to the TimeTracker and a great way to reduce customer friction would be to have the TimeTracker be able to update itself instead of requiring us to install patches manually.

This is VSTS Time Tracker and the Windows Client for TimeTracker

  I agree, The old windows client also gave three options (stop tracking, pause and continue tracking, do not pause and continue tracking) when unlocking/waking the PC, which was amazing, but now it has lost all of that

  This was already resolved. I got patched today without having to install manually.
