    Hi all,

I am thinking on this feature request and what do you say if we provide for every user a possibility to pin any item (work item or comment) into his timesheet? See image. I think it is personal option list and not for the whole team and everyone can customize it as he likes.

Doesn't have to be so complicated. Here is what a competitor does:

See the link at the bottom? Surely that's trivial to implement?  You just get all the items, with 0 hours set for today.

Let me understand better how this can be solved. Is there a way you could define a query in TFS/VSTS that would cover all the items? (In other words: I want to find out if populating the Timesheet with a certain query could solve the demand.)

Another use case: As a product owner I work on items not in the current sprint. I want these workitems to appear in my Timesheet in an automated way.

Yes it would be possible for us to create a query to populate these items, probably a different query for each type of user (Product Owner, Scrum Master or Developer).  We could assign a tag to a story for it to be a default item

Let me crosslink another request that is going into the same direction: https://support.7pace.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000507966-Query-based-Timesheet

We like the default timesheet view of showing work items from the current sprint.  We would like to be able to add a few non-sprint work items for tracking internal time that are listed on the timesheet every week.  The caveat for us is that we like that the current timesheet view which shows the task's parent hierarchy to the PBI > Feature > Epic.  If we didn't see that hierarchy with a TFS Query it would be a problem for us.

    Hi Maxim,

Yes the users in our team would benefit from being able to pin Work Items to the Timesheet at a per user level, as long as the pinned items are permanent/rollover each week.  We'd be able to unpin as well, correct?

    Thank you,
    Mike Driest

Mike, yes, of course this is toggle button. You can pin/unpin any item any time. And it sticks to the top of the table every week.

Yes I like the pin option and would work for us as well

Pin option would be really great. Every week we have to spend time laboriously searching for items that are on the previous week.

Thank you all for your continued interest in this feature request. It has been pushed back momentarily as we work to get higher-priority features into Timetracker releases, but it is in our backlog and will be included in a future release in Q2 of this year.

We would not want to copy the entire timesheet from the previous week because we use Scrum in TFS with two week sprints.  Every two weeks we start a new Sprint and 7pace Timetracker picks up new work items automatically from the current sprint.  We only have 1-5 internal work items that our users would want to pin to our timesheet so they appear every week.

So you could click it, and remove (or just ignore, don't populate any times) the ones you don't want, since its a superset?

We would not want to copy over all rows from the previous timesheet because most work items would be no longer applicable after a two week sprint ends.  Our Sprints add about 30 or so work items to our weekly timesheet.

But if they come over, and you don't populate them with times, how does it hurt?

Not suggesting my proposal is done instead of the pinning idea.  They're different.  Just that pinning appears to be a big lift for 7pace. Perhaps this could be done much quicker (no need to configure pinning per user), thus stopping the pain for many folks asap.

It would be clutter for us.  In our case 30 work items shown with their parent hierarchy (Epic > Feature > Bug/PB > Work Item) makes for a long timesheet which would not be ideal for us because most of it would be obsolete.  This is a suggestion that may work well for others.

Is there an estimated release date for this one?

    Hi guys,

Sorry for delays in delivery this feature, we slightly adjusted focus for the time being on the performance and page loads. I guess you should see improvements already.

Speaking about this feature with default items: we are working on this, as Leah mentioned we have plans to have it in Q2 this year.

We want to allow users pin items across all pages that pinned item on Timesheet stays pinned item on adding time on Monthly page.

Check our idea here, any feedback is appreciated. I will post Timesheet changes later in this thread.

For my needs, its still more clicks than ideal to get the 10 task I do every week inserted, but definitely an improvement.

    Hi Chad,

We are working hard on these new features right now, we will start rolling out updates by the end of August.

Full featured update will be released later in the Autumn.

Sorry for delayed answers and overall delay in the delivering the feature. We had some unplanned development that caused this feature slipping. It is still high prio and will be released in upcoming updates mid/late spring this year.
