Better UX for long titles in Work Item search box (Add time dialog)

The search dialog is relatively tight and when I'm looking for some Work item (WI) I do not see the full description. It comes from the fact that our WIs have some predefined structure and the description follows after the first 12 chars and for some of them after approx 24 chars.

Could you please clarify would cropping the beginnings of titles and showing end only work for you? Or you'd prefer having an option to extend the search list by clicking some button/dragging search-box sides?
We'd appreciate your ideas and feedback so that we could make Add Time dialog UX better and not spoil it for those who have short titles.
