Currently, you can only have up to 5 custom fields. This includes the different types of custom fields. As in, if you have 2 string fields, and 1 numeric field, you still have used 3 of your 5 custom fields.
Can the number of custom fields be expanded? I suspect it was thought 5 should be enough, and maybe for reports, it might be, however, this is also the limit for all ODATA queries. Which, as I have a process that picks up data from 7Pace, and puts the data in other systems, 5 custom fields isn't enough. Currently, we have to do 2 OData pulls, join the data and then update our data.

thank-you for reaching out! We'll need to keep an eye on this one. Normally we find that our customers make do with the current custom fields. However there's no harm in allowing for extra flexibility providing it doesn't affect performance or break the UI. We'll monitor this thread and if there are enough requests we'll raise it higher with our development team in the next future.
